Okage Yokocho おかげ横丁

Leading up to Ise Grand Shrine is Okage Yokocho おかげ横丁 or a long strip of shops and restaurants along a river with an atmosphere that feels like you've been transported back to the Edo Period. It's one of the coolest tourist experiences I've had so far in Japan and I thought that the variety of shops and famous restaurants was a nice introduction to the area. A must-visit!
